Code of Conduct

Respect and Fair Treatment

Pillow Magazine is an advocate for a work environment that promotes respect, dignity, and equality. All tasks performed for Pillow Magazine must exemplify professionalism, void of any discrimination or harassment. Conduct that is based on a person's sex, race, colour, weight, body shape, size, religion, national origin, ancestry, age, marital or domestic-partnership status, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity or expression will not be accepted.

Pillow Magazine expects all partner companies and vendors to maintain similar values and communicate equal opportunity and anti-harassment policies to their employees. A copy of these policies may be requested by Pillow Magazine.

Guidelines for Shoots

A professional and respectful atmosphere is mandatory during photo and video shoots. Any conduct that disrespects or discriminates will not be entertained.

Adherence to the following guidelines is expected during all shoots for Pillow Magazine:

- All models participating must be at least 18 years of age. Exceptions will be considered for individuals portraying themselves in profiles or news reports. If a shoot requires participants under 18, the agency must provide a chaperone and abide by relevant labour laws, including child-labour laws.

- All tasks carried out during a photo or video shoot must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including labour, wage, and hour, and immigration laws.

- Participants should not be under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs (including unauthorised prescription drugs). Consumption or use of alcohol and illegal drugs (including misuse of prescription drugs) is strictly prohibited on shoot premises.

- Any nudity, sheer clothing, lingerie, swimwear, animals, simulated drug or alcohol use, or sexually suggestive poses should be detailed in a brief and must be agreed to in advance in writing by the image's subject. Notification of planned nudity should be given to all attendees at the shoot in advance.

- A private dressing space must be made available to all individuals involved in a shoot.

- Provision of suitable undergarments is necessary if sheer clothing is to be included unless the image's subject gives prior written consent.

- Any discomfort of a subject concerning skin exposure must be taken into account. No subject should be pressured to expose more than they are comfortable with.

- While Pillow Magazine holds the reins of creative and aesthetic decisions, all concerns from a subject, their agent, or other representative should be respectfully considered.

- We advise a model not to be alone with a photographer, makeup artist, or any other contributor on a Pillow Magazine shoot.

- Photographers and videographers should not shoot anyone involved in a Pillow Magazine project other than as requested by Pillow Magazine, during the shoot, including any related travel.

- All participants in a photo or video shoot must conduct themselves professionally and abstain from any form of harassment. Unacceptable conduct includes, but is not limited to:

1. Unwanted sexual advances or propositions.

2. Any kind of sexual activity or contact.

3. Any implication, directly or indirectly, that accepting or rejecting sexual advances will impact an individual's opportunity to work for the shoot or any other Pillow Magazine project.

4. Display of pornographic or obscene material.

5. Derogatory comments regarding a person’s sex, race, colour, weight, body shape, size, religion, national origin, ancestry, age, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity or expression, including epithets and slurs.

6. Threats or physical assaults.

Concerns about any misconduct occurring during a photo or video shoot may be reported to the designated Pillow Magazine contact for the shoot, as listed on the provided call sheet and/or posted on-set.
